Subject:
Today is the 59th Anniversary of the International Declaration of Human Rights
Date: December 10, 2007

Today celebrates the 59th anniversary of the International Declaration of Human Rights. Today the voices of thousands continue to support and speak out for those basic human rights - to be secure in person, to be able to speak one's mind, worship as one believes, to be equal before the law, and to be free from bondage or slavery.

One of our members believes so strongly in these principles that she carries the International Declaration of Human Rights document in her pocket. She shows it to everyone, including legislators, and distributes the booklets widely. We'd like to make it possible for you to follow her wonderful lead.

You can access the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the US site (for the 50th anniversary - but nothing has changed) at: http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html

As we are in the season of many holidays - Advent, Christmas, Hanukkah, Eid, Kwanzaa, the new year - please review this declaration and pass it on. What better gift can one give than human rights to and for everyone?
